Lakehead is a source company for paper and packaging distributors of newsprint and groundwood specialty papers, in sheets or counter rolls, for printing and packaging. Our converting facility is in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, while our second plant is in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Small orders for any of our products are also available as we ship pool trucks to most major centers in the Midwest.
Minimums can be as small as 2,000#

Custom Sizes Available
Counter Rolls
- Small diameter rolls that are lightweight and easy to handle
- Can be run to lineal footage, weight per roll or diameter
- Stocking Grades:
- Newsprint
- Recycled Natural Kraft: 30#, 40#, 50#, 60#, 75#
- Bleached Kraft – 40#
- Poly Coated – 50# virgin kraft with 10# LDPE on one side
- Standard sizes: 12″ to 72″
- Other grades are available such as Bogus Kraft, and Poly Coated Newsprint
Newsprint Sheets
- Low cost and easy to handle
- For wrapping, stuffing/void fill and interleaving
- Available in either kraft wrapped bundles, poly wrapped
bundles, or cartons - Standard sizes are 12 x 18, 18 x 24, 20 x 30, 24 x 30, 24 x 36
- Can also manufacture any size between 8.5 x 11 and 72 x 96
Specialty Sheets
Kraft Paper Sheets
- Recycled kraft paper available in various sizes and basis weights
GLASS INTERLEAVING PAPER
- Hi Bulk Newsprint – soft virgin paper, ideal for glass interleaving
